Starbucks Reserve Roastery - New York City
In December 2018 the Starbucks Reserve Roastery opened in New York City (https://www.starbucksreserve.com/en-us/locations/new-york). This store, located on the corner of 9th Avenue and 15th Street in lower Manhattan is Starbucks’ flagship, 23.000sq/ft, 3 floor, meticulously designed store.
Every Starbucks Reserve Roastery in the world (there are currently 5 of them) has a different artist create a version of their iconic twin-tailed Siren. In 2017 MSD was asked to create the Siren for this upcoming New York location.
Over the following year, Steiner, along with the Starbucks team, developed the design of a copper wall relief sculpture as a centerpiece for the space. The final result was a 10ft x 10ft, 2,500lb copper/bronze sculpture built into the Roastery.
